Keeping Caroline!

This week, Jillian was working on a special project for Greg for Father's Day.  She needed to use the printer at my parents' house, so she asked if I could watch Caroline for a little bit while she worked on it.  Of course, the kids and I were happy to let little Caroline hang out with us!  She was excellent while she was here - never shed a tear!  (Although, she did do some of her normal squealing, which worried SJ until he realized that was a happy sound!)  She loved playing with the kids' toys and the sensory bottles that we'd made.

All three kids!
 Just the girls!
Katie Anne took this one of me, SJ, and Caroline.

Big fake smile - but he was so happy that Caroline was here!

Caroline had fun here, and we had fun having her here  - she can come stay with us anytime!

Babysitting Caroline!

I got to finish out my fun, exciting day today by taking care of my first niece - Little Miss Caroline!  Greg and Jillian needed a babysitter tonight, and of course I was happy to oblige them and watch the littlest lady in the Glawson family!

Caroline and I had a great time together - playing, talking (aka Caroline squealing!), and rocking in her comfy chair.  She even showed me some of those sweet smiles and silly faces!

This is how Aunt Katie rolls!  I had Caroline all taken care of, snuggled up, and got her to sleep.
Little C was sound asleep in her bed when her parents got home!

Can't wait to babysit her again!

The Kids Meet Caroline!

After the Johnston family Thanksgiving meal, we stopped by Greg and Jillian's house.  Of course, they couldn't come to the big Thanksgiving celebration because Caroline was just freshly home from the hospital.  Jillian's parents and grandmother were in town, so they celebrated Thanksgiving at Greg and Jillian's home together.  We wanted to stop by and say hello to them - and tell Caroline that we're thankful for her little self!  The kids - especially Katie Anne - were thrilled to meet Caroline in person.

Katie Anne couldn't wait to meet her little cousin!

Everyone was a bit nervous with it was SJ's turn... but he was absolutely in love with Caroline!

He immediately leaned over and tried to give her a hug!

First picture of all three cousins together!

Saunders Meets Caroline

Monday night, we headed back down to the hospital to see Miss Caroline again.
Saunders had to meet his first niece!

Of course, I got to hold her again, too.

She was so alert, curious, and - of course - totally happy to see us.  We all got our first "official" pictures made with her tonight!

Jillian and Greg are doing such an awesome job as a new mom and dad!

Katie Anne was incredibly disappointed that she couldn't go with us, but of course the hospital doesn't allow non-siblings into the maternity area.  As soon as Greg, Jillian, and Caroline are home and settled, the kids will get their chance to meet their new cousin!

Sweet Caroline

Caroline Grey Glawson is here!

Greg and Jillian's tiny, precious baby girl was born at 7:09 pm on Sunday, November 20.  She was a perfect 8 lbs even and 21.5 inches long.  She is such a pretty baby, and I am finally an aunt!  Here I am with brand-new baby Caroline in the delivery room!
When we heard that Caroline was on the way, we were all so excited.  My parents and I waited out the afternoon and evening at the hospital with Jillian's family.

This was the first time that I'd been in the hospital waiting room, anxiously awaiting the arrival of a new baby, and it is much more stressful than I'd thought while I was on the other side!  We kept trying not to pester Greg and Jillian, but of course we wanted to know every little bit of progress.
Finally, we got word that Jillian was ready to push. In just 40 minutes, little Caroline was born!  Of course, we had to wait a while to see her, but that's okay - I know time goes so quickly for the new parents and baby in the delivery and recovery room.  There's so much to do just after a new baby comes.  Greg got to come out and deliver the big news himself, and he was thrilled about his new baby girl.

When we got back to see the newest little Glawson, it was definitely worth the wait!  Greg was beyond excited, and Jillian didn't even look like she'd just had a baby.

I got to help walk them up from the delivery room to their hospital room... here's the new family heading upstairs to their home away from home for a few days!
We didn't stay long once they got upstairs- it was so late, and of course they were all so tired.  We gave our congratulations to Jillian for a job well done, looked at little Caroline for a few minutes, gave Greg a squeeze, and got out of there so they could spend some time together.  We did snap a few pictures of Gigi and Granddad with their newest grandbaby before we left, of course!

Caroline is such a cute little thing, and they're a sweet little family already!  I can't wait to watch her grow!

Here are more pictures from Caroline's birth day...
