Meeting Baby Loretta June!

On the way down to the beach for our vacation, we stopped halfway in Moultrie to spend some time with Carlton and Trisha... and meet the three-week-old Loretta June Jones!  We were so excited to see Baby Lori (or Baby LuLu as SJ had already nicknamed her) in person!  

We actually met Carlton, Trisha, and Lori at a Mexican restaurant for dinner first.  Then, we went back over to their house to spend some time with Baby LuLu!  When we were looking at Lori's nursery, SJ spotted a "MiMi Mouse" in a basket.  He immediately grabbed it, and I thought he just wanted to hold it.  But, he ran hard with it straight to Baby Lori, and he gave it to her to hold!   Such a sweet boy... he loves babies!

Both kids had picked out a little something special for Baby Lori, and they enjoyed giving their gifts to Carlton and Trisha for her.

We spent the night at a hotel in Moultrie, and thank goodness we did- these two tiny kids were wild and wired and stayed up late!  They would've kept Baby LuLu up all night!

On Saturday morning, we went back to see Baby Lori before we headed down to the beach at lunchtime.  She was so sweet - she rocked and napped in her swing like such a sweet girl.  We loved getting to spend time with her!

One more little cuddle, and then we had to leave!  Can't wait to hold this little lady again in a week!

Keeping Caroline!

This week, Jillian was working on a special project for Greg for Father's Day.  She needed to use the printer at my parents' house, so she asked if I could watch Caroline for a little bit while she worked on it.  Of course, the kids and I were happy to let little Caroline hang out with us!  She was excellent while she was here - never shed a tear!  (Although, she did do some of her normal squealing, which worried SJ until he realized that was a happy sound!)  She loved playing with the kids' toys and the sensory bottles that we'd made.

Caroline had fun here, and we had fun having her here  - she can come stay with us anytime!

Sun Catcher Art Project

Today, we made a fun sun catcher project.  Trisha and Carlton gave this project to the kids a few weeks ago, and they loved doing it! 

 Each kid made one sun catcher for their own room, and then they made one each for Caroline's room and one each for Lori's room.  

Katie Anne did an awesome job!  She is so crafty.  Her sun catchers looked beautiful.

SJ worked really hard and did a lot better than I thought.  He was very careful and didn't make much of a mess, and his looked really good!

All finished - they look awesome!  The unicorn is KA's to keep, and she made the puppy for Caroline and the crown for Lori.  The "Lightning McQueen" car is for SJ to keep, and he made the horse for Caroline and the rocket for Lori.

I didn't get a picture of SJ with his finished products because he was already napping by the time they'd cooled, but KA was proud to show her creations off!

The kids can't wait to give their sun catchers to their cousins!

Welcome, Baby Lori!

Today at 6:05 pm, Loretta June Jones was born!

Our new little niece was born to proud parents Carlton and Trisha in Moultrie!
Loretta June will be going by the nickname Lori, and she is just precious!

Greg & Jillian's Big Announcement!

On Sunday evening, after Katie Anne's birthday party, Greg and Jillian asked if all of us could go out to dinner together.  Hmmm... wonder why?  Could it be that Jillian is...

pregnant!?!?

Yes, she is!  They had the cutest way of surprising us ... they gave each of the adults an Easter egg with a lucky penny and a scratch-off "lotto" card inside.  When we scratched off the card, we got the great news!  Baby Glawson is due in November!  We are all very excited!

They hoped it would be a total surprise, but we had a little idea that there might be a bun in the oven.  In my infinite Tom Collins-induced wisdom, I totally guessed it at last month's Bunco!  Hey, Jillian gave out a few easy clues ... frequent bathroom breaks, nausea, asking for Tums, bringing wine but not drinking it!?!  Come on, who asks for Tums and skips on their own wine?  Only a pregnant girl!  Jillian swore she wasn't pregnant at Bunco, but just in case ... my parents and I brought some little new baby presents for the new parents!  We kept them hidden until they'd announced the big news, then we busted them out!

And, my parents brought them a "My Daddy Rocks!" onesie!

Can't wait to meet Baby Glawson in November ... hopefully on 11.11.11!
