Meeting Baby Loretta June!

On the way down to the beach for our vacation, we stopped halfway in Moultrie to spend some time with Carlton and Trisha... and meet the three-week-old Loretta June Jones!  We were so excited to see Baby Lori (or Baby LuLu as SJ had already nicknamed her) in person!  

We actually met Carlton, Trisha, and Lori at a Mexican restaurant for dinner first.  Then, we went back over to their house to spend some time with Baby LuLu!  When we were looking at Lori's nursery, SJ spotted a "MiMi Mouse" in a basket.  He immediately grabbed it, and I thought he just wanted to hold it.  But, he ran hard with it straight to Baby Lori, and he gave it to her to hold!   Such a sweet boy... he loves babies!

Both kids had picked out a little something special for Baby Lori, and they enjoyed giving their gifts to Carlton and Trisha for her.

We spent the night at a hotel in Moultrie, and thank goodness we did- these two tiny kids were wild and wired and stayed up late!  They would've kept Baby LuLu up all night!

On Saturday morning, we went back to see Baby Lori before we headed down to the beach at lunchtime.  She was so sweet - she rocked and napped in her swing like such a sweet girl.  We loved getting to spend time with her!

One more little cuddle, and then we had to leave!  Can't wait to hold this little lady again in a week!

Welcome, Baby Lori!

Today at 6:05 pm, Loretta June Jones was born!

Our new little niece was born to proud parents Carlton and Trisha in Moultrie!
Loretta June will be going by the nickname Lori, and she is just precious!

Babysitting Caroline!

I got to finish out my fun, exciting day today by taking care of my first niece - Little Miss Caroline!  Greg and Jillian needed a babysitter tonight, and of course I was happy to oblige them and watch the littlest lady in the Glawson family!

Caroline and I had a great time together - playing, talking (aka Caroline squealing!), and rocking in her comfy chair.  She even showed me some of those sweet smiles and silly faces!

This is how Aunt Katie rolls!  I had Caroline all taken care of, snuggled up, and got her to sleep.

Can't wait to babysit her again!

Registering with Trisha and Carlton

Today is a niece day!  After Addison's birthday party, I got to go and pick out cute things for my newest niece that's due in June!  Carlton and Trisha had been picking my brain about baby stuff for registering purposes, and I was so honored when they asked me to go with them to officially register at Babies R Us!  We checked out lots of baby paraphernalia, and I think Carlton and Trisha chose lots of great things.  I had a lot of fun with them, and I hope I gave them good advice.  I can't wait to meet Baby Girl Jones in June!

Sweet Caroline

Caroline Grey Glawson is here!

Greg and Jillian's tiny, precious baby girl was born at 7:09 pm on Sunday, November 20.  She was a perfect 8 lbs even and 21.5 inches long.  She is such a pretty baby, and I am finally an aunt!  Here I am with brand-new baby Caroline in the delivery room!

When we heard that Caroline was on the way, we were all so excited.  My parents and I waited out the afternoon and evening at the hospital with Jillian's family.  

 

This was the first time that I'd been in the hospital waiting room, anxiously awaiting the arrival of a new baby, and it is much more stressful than I'd thought while I was on the other side!  We kept trying not to pester Greg and Jillian, but of course we wanted to know every little bit of progress.

  Finally, we got word that Jillian was ready to push. In just 40 minutes, little Caroline was born!  Of course, we had to wait a while to see her, but that's okay - I know time goes so quickly for the new parents and baby in the delivery and recovery room.  There's so much to do just after a new baby comes.  Greg got to come out and deliver the big news himself, and he was thrilled about his new baby girl.

 

When we got back to see the newest little Glawson, it was definitely worth the wait!  Greg was beyond excited, and Jillian didn't even look like she'd just had a baby.  

 

I got to help walk them up from the delivery room to their hospital room... here's the new family heading upstairs to their home away from home for a few days!

We didn't stay long once they got upstairs- it was so late, and of course they were all so tired.  We gave our congratulations to Jillian for a job well done, looked at little Caroline for a few minutes, gave Greg a squeeze, and got out of there so they could spend some time together.  We did snap a few pictures of Gigi and Granddad with their newest grandbaby before we left, of course!

 

 Caroline is such a cute little thing, and they're a sweet little family already!  I can't wait to watch her grow!
