It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas!

Yesterday, we did all our Christmas decorating!  It was great to get the house all set up for the holiday - and to start SJ's first Christmas season!

 "What's on my head?"

We wanted to get a new tree this year, but we decided to wait one more year on that.  So, our tree is a little rough - as the Grinch says, "There's a light on this tree that won't light on one side."  Make that quite a few lights!  Once we got the ornaments on, it still looks really festive.

Our own personal Grinch put herself in timeout for awhile during the decorating fiesta.  Why?  Because she was "feeling cranky".  Why was she feeling cranky?  Because we didn't let her dictate where every.single.ornament was placed on the tree.

Luckily, after about 5 minutes of her self-imposed timeout, she was ready to rejoin the party and be a great helper!

The Elf on the Shelf - Frisbee - also made his debut yesterday!

Katie Anne loves playing with her Little People nativity:

Tree decorating tired these two boys out!

Glawson Family Thanksgiving

On the Sunday after Thanksgiving, we had a big dinner at my parents' house.  This year, we went for something different with the Thanksgiving menu.  My mom made tons of delicious food including shrimp casserole (my favorite - I ate TONS), lobster tails, scalloped potatoes, stuffed mushrooms, cheesecake, brownies ... lots of yumminess!  We had a great time visiting and hanging out as a family.  Here are some photos of our Thanksgiving time together!

I dressed SJ in what I thought was a cute fall one-piece outfit - perfect for the occasion.  Everyone else laughed at him because he looked like Elvis in a jumpsuit!

The Georgia-Ga Tech Game

On Saturday, we headed to Athens for the Georgia vs Georgia Tech game.  We invited Josh and Tamara Brock to go with us.  We had such a great time together!

The guys wanted to leave early - way early.  Tamara and I did our best to delay them, but we still got to Athens very early in the day!  We took a walk down memory lane, walking through downtown and eating messy hamburgers and yummy fries at The Grill.  Then, we headed to the Tate Student Center where The Tom and Chad Show was doing a tailgate.  We had fun hanging out with friends at the tailgate with Tom, Chad, and a bunch of other friends from C'ville.  It was very cold at the tailgate - and even colder once we got in the stadium!

Josh is a former Dawg himself - he played offensive line for UGA.  It was really interesting hear all his insider stories about playing for the Dawgs.  When we went into the stadium, Josh asked if we wanted to go on the field before the game.  Um, YES WE DO!  It was so exciting!  We were right there on the field - so close to all the players and coaches while they were warming up and getting ready for the game!

The weather was c.o.l.d. during the game, but all the excitement of the Dawgs vs Jackets (and lots and lots of layered clothing) kept us warm.  After the game was over, Tamara and I were ready for sleeping on the drive back.  Tamara's in her early second trimester of pregnancy and I'm a mom of a non-sleeping baby, so surely we'd be sleeping while the guys drive home, right?  Um, no.  Both husbands snored in the backseat while Tamara drove and I tried to keep her awake!  I have no idea what I talked to Tamara about - maybe state secrets, maybe lies - but we made it home safe, sound, and almost delirious at 3:00 am!

Johnston Family Thanksgiving

On Thanksgiving Day, we celebrated with my mom's family at my cousin Angela's house.  It was a lot of fun getting together with the big family, including Jodi, Jason, and Marley from Arizona!  We had lots of classic Thanksgiving food like turkey, dressing, gravy, rolls, veggies, and desserts.  It was SJ's first big family Thanksgiving, and he slept through almost the entire thing!  Everyone had a great time visiting and catching up, and Katie Anne had a blast playing with all her cousins.  She was very sad and cried when we had to leave!  Here are some pictures of the Thanksgiving festivities!

Happy Baby!

Yummy food!

Dad, I'm tired!

Katie Anne loves to play with her cousins - and all their awesome toys!

SJ - the life of the party - snoozed the day away!
