The Duck Derby Concert

This weekend, the Advocates for Bartow's Children hosted their biggest annual fund raiser - The Duck Derby!  On Friday night, the Advocate's Young Professionals group hosted a concert and corn hole tournament to raise money for Bartow's needy children.  Saunders helped organize, set up, judge, and clean up after the event - and it was awesome!  The corn hole tournament was a very popular event - they had 48 teams sign up to play in the tournament.  My dad's business, Advanced Backflow Technologies, sponsored two teams.  He and Greg were one team, and my parents' neighbors Tim and Ben Plantz were the other team.  Neither team won the competition, but they still had fun!  There were some serious corn hole competitors out there!  The tournament started at 6:00, and the last two teams didn't face off until after 9:00!  Here are some pictures of the corn hole players...
And pictures of us while we watched them play!

After our teams were out of the tournament, we headed over to the concert area.  My dad's business had bought a table, so we all hung out there, listened to the music, and ate barbecue!  There were two great bands - The Maggie Smith Band and Real Time Stereo.  The weather was very hot and muggy at first, but once the sun went down, it felt much better.  We had a great time hanging out, talking, listening to the music, and Katie Anne had a great time dancing!  She broke out some major moves ... and got very embarrassed when several tables gave her a big round of applause!

It was a great night!  We are already making plans for next year.  Everyone had an awesome time, there was a big community turnout, and Advocates Young Professionals made a lot of money for Bartow's kids!
