Girls' Day Out: Pumpkin Painting Class

Today, Katie Anne and I had a girls' day out - we went to a pumpkin painting class!

We went to Betty's Backporch Art Gallery downtown for our class.  We each painted our own pumpkin - I painted a big pumpkin with polka dots and Saunders's/my monogram to match the dining room while Katie Anne painted a small striped pumpkin.  Katie Anne did a fabulous job ... she did her pumpkin entirely on her own and was sooo grown up.  The teacher squeezed out the paints that Katie Anne picked, I helped her pick some brushes, and she was off and running!  She painted so carefully and rinsed and dried her brush in between colors - I was so amazed by her!

Plus, this was great for me because that meant I could focus on my own pumpkin!  In fact, she was a better pumpkin painting student than me ... I kept warning her about not spilling her brush rinsing water, and guess what I did?  I spilled my water all over the table and made a huge mess!  Talk about embarrassing...

We had such a fun time spending time together and doing a big girl craft.  Not to brag - but actually totally bragging - I think we both did an amazing job on our beautiful pumpkins!  Check out these awesome pumpkins...
