In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday and Read Across America, Katie Anne and I are planning some special Dr. Seuss activities and crafts this week. On Monday, we read
The Cat in The Hat and
The Cat in The Hat Comes Back, but after my field trip, I was too tired to craft. So, yesterday, we made our Cat in The Hat crafts... we made hats for all of us and a big cat for the refrigerator. Luckily, we got in our crafty fun before Katie Anne got sick! Here's some pictures of what we did.
Looking at our books again.
She finds the Cat hilarious!
Then, we painted on our cat faces.
Putting glue on the hats.
Sticking on the red pieces (precut by Mommy, of course).
The finished hat!
Next, we colored our cat face.
Coloring his hat... she wanted to look at her hat to see how.
Funny girl!
Coloring the bow.
Mommy's little trick... magically, there's no red in the white parts now!
Gluing all the parts together.
Finished products...
When Daddy got home, he was so excited about his hat! Katie Anne literally could not wait to give it to him... she kept walking around the house, carrying his hat, while I was making dinner saying, "Daddy home yet? Daddy home yet?"
