Project Life - I Totally Want This!

One of the blogs I follow is U Create.  On Monday, this blog spotlighted Becky Higgins.  The blog said that Becky needed no introduction, but actually she did because I didn't know anything about her.  However, now that I found her website and her new product, Project Life, I am a fan.

And I totally want Project Life!

This is a scrapbook system designed for people who are taking the Picture a Day challenge.  I'm still keeping up with my picture a day goal.  This scrapbook is designed to hold the 365 photos, plus a mini journaling card to note who/what/when of each picture.  There are dividers for each month, a little organizing box ...
wow - so organized and so cute!

I think Project Life is so totally neat!

A Note about Vacation Posts

My apologies if you're thinking, "Dear Lord, Katie's doing an overload of vacation posts! Multiple posts per day? Why doesn't she just do a summary Smilebox slideshow and call it a day?"

Well, dare I say it? I'm about... (...gasp...) ...8 months behind in my scrapbooking. That's right... eight. There's just no way I can stay caught up on all the pictures I take if I scrap them all, even by saving the time I do through doing them digitally. And, when you throw in other hobbies and chores and things, I am just woefully behind. I also have to consider how I'll ever keep up with it once I have another kid, too!

I hope to remedy this situation by changing my format a little bit and going with partial scrapbook/partial photoalbum option that Archiver's now carries. (I'm sure I'll go into more detail on that later once I start/buy the pages.) But, until then, I am using the blog as a pseudo scrapbooking memory record/event diary/list of pages to do.

So, feel free to scroll through my high volume of posts and just hit the high points if my over-blogging occassionally wears you out. I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to follow every move we make and see every cute picture we take ... this is "Keeping Up with Us" after all ... but I can understand a rare day of blog-reading exhaustion, and I will forgive you for skimming. :)

Oops, I Did It Again

Well, as usual, I get involved in one craft to the exclusion of all others. This time, that meant digital scrapbooking went by the wayside for the last six weeks or so as I've been sewing all the time (and I was already behind in scrapbooking). So, this weekend I've really been trying to crank the digital pages out. I got up early this morning and worked for a few hours before everyone else got up. Now, I'm scrapped up into June! I'm working on Father's Day right now. Hopefully, I'll be totally caught up by Christmas. Here's some of the pages I've done this weekend.

Digital Scrapbook Mania!

I had to take a break from digital scrap-booking... a long break. I tried really hard to get Katie Anne's first year scrapbooked by her first birthday, so I was working every night for several weeks leading up to her birthday to get it done. After that, I took a short break.

Well, when I tried to start back scrapping her birthday party, I was paralyzed by my own perfection- ism. I wanted the birthday pages to look so perfect since they were the culmination of the first year book (I know... crazy). I couldn't pick a background, then I couldn't pick a font, then I couldn't pick decorative elements... I agonized over every decision until I just couldn't think about it any more.

Finally, a few weeks ago, I just bit the bullet and cranked the birthday party pages out. Then, the flood gates were opened, and I powered through her first birthday photo shoot pictures, which had also been a big mental block.

Since then, all I've wanted to do was scrap, but I just haven't had the time or I've been too tired in the evenings. Today, I was determined to get some pages done. I took the laptop to my parents' while we watched the Georgia game, and I got a few pages done there. Once I got KA to bed, I've done 8 more pages! I'm on a crazy roll! If you want to see my progress, here are some of the ones I did today... click to enlarge them.
