Life & Liberty

We had a great 4th of July! It was our last night on vacation, and we celebrated until the wee hours. (I haven't posted anything about it since because Saturday was packing and nine hours in the car, and Sunday was unpacking and nine hours of laundry!)

We went to dinner at Liberty restaurant at Broadway on the Beach. Our family met Jillian's brother Andy and his family there, and we got to meet their new daughter, Eva Jean Hatley. Broadway was packed and crazy! We had a big dinner, and Katie Anne ate her first crawfish. Then, we shopped a bit and Saunders found the visor he'd been wanting to buy all week.

Then, we headed back to the condo and the beach. We went down and stood in the surf and watched the fireworks! There were displays all up and down the beach... it felt like you were literally surrounded by fireworks. It was so neat to watch the fireworks with your feet in the sand. Katie Anne was a little nervous at first, but she was in her backpack on her Daddy's back, and she was soon clapping and enjoying them. We stayed out way past her bedtime, but it was worth it!
