Breakfast with Santa

This morning at 9:00, we had Breakfast with Santa at the Country Club. As Katie Anne says it, "eh-body" (everybody) came- we had both sets of grandparents as well as one of Katie Anne's great grandmothers (Grandmama- VJ's mom) in attendance! Everyone had a really good time eating breakfast together and laughing and talking. Katie Anne had a lot of fun visiting with everyone at the table, and she loved yelling "Hi!" as people walked by our table.

Katie Anne CHOWED down. She ate and ate and ate! She loved the sausage, tiny tater tots, melon and cantaloupe, but most of all she loved the Fruit Loops! We'll definitely be purchasing some of those on our next trip to the store.

So, the question of the day is... How did she do with Santa? Well, not so good, but it was still cute. She got a little nervous when we first went back into the room where Santa was posing with other kids. Then, as we waited in line, she got better and was laughing and talking. Then... the balloon elf came in. That lady is a little intense, and I think she scared Katie Anne a little bit. Immediately following the "get-ya-get-ya-goo" in the belly by the elf, it was time for Katie Anne to sit with Santa, and she clung to me like a wet noodle. We tried Daddy hugging Santa and Mommy hugging Santa, but she still didn't want to sit down. So, I just plopped her down and ran away, and she of course didn't like that. She screamed and cried and big crocodile tears ran down her little face. But, I think it will actually be a funny picture. Then, we took a big family picture with Santa with all of us standing behind him, and I was holding her. I don't think she smiled, but she wasn't crying, so that one will probably be good, too. Of course, I will post those two once we get them back.

One funny thing about the "eh-body" story... we told Katie Anne in the car who all was going to be at breakfast (VJ, Doc, Gigi, Granddad, and Grandmama). She said "Eh-body!" We agreed. Then, she said, "Twisha?". We said, um, no, not Trisha. She said, "Geg?". Well, no, not Greg. She asked, "Juju?" Actually, no, not Jillian. She said, "Carton?" Um, well, not Carlton either. So, she said, "Eh-body?" in a confused little voice! I guess her everybody includes all aunts and uncles, too! So, Trisha, Greg, Jillian, and Carlton... your niece missed you!

Pretty girl!

The balloon elf returns... Katie Anne was much happier to see her this time.

Showing off her balloon to Daddy.

Yeah! A balloon poodle!

She loved the balloon animal, but it quickly untwisted in her curious little grip.

I made this outfit for her, and I love it!

What a fun morning!

Cute Dress! Lily was terrified of Santa last year too. Our Santa picture of her last year was me holding her in Santa's sleigh while she is crying and reaching for Josh.
