Toddler Time!

Yesterday, Katie Anne and I started our summer tradition of library time! This year, Katie Anne moves up a class to Toddler Time, which is 18 months - 3 years. She's definitely one of the oldest ones in the class, but she doesn't mind showing the little kids who's got the dance moves. She loved singing, dancing, and listening to the books yesterday.

The "lesson" yesterday was on cooking, with the signature book being If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Katie Anne thought the book was hilarious ("More milk!? Oh, silly mouse!"), and she loved the craft. That's the significant difference between Rockin' Baby Time and Toddler Time- the older kids' class ends with a book-related craft every week. This week, we made mice and cookies... totally cute! Katie Anne had to glue the icing to the cookie, then glue on the sprinkles, then fold the paper plate "mouth", glue the cookie inside, and finally attach the mouse face!

I tried to get a picture of us doing the craft, but my camera was too low, so our heads got cut off. This is a super-fun activity, so we'll probably repeat it on a playdate with Lily and Emma soon.

Here's a smiley KA showing off her creation.

A picture I made at home of the mouse...

And the cookie inside his mouth!

We love "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"! My mom gave it to the kids last summer. Javi has done a few of the recipes but I've never tried any of it with Bella. Sounds like it's time!

Awesome craft idea, too!
