15 Months & Growing

Katie Anne (or, Little Elton John in this picture- wearing my flip flops and her sunglasses) had her 15 month check-up today. She is in perfect health! She weighs 25 lbs exactly, which is the 80th percentile for weight. She is 31.5 inches tall, which is the 90th percentile for height. I had them check her neck/jaw, which she says hurts sometimes, and her right forearm, which she also complains about on occasion. Dr. Colon (or "Dock-Ta", as KA called her today) thinks the neck/jaw pain is teething... Katie Anne has lots of molars coming in. She thought the arm pain was probably soreness from falling and/or growing pains, as there was no swelling or bruising.

Dr. Colon was very impressed with Katie Anne's language abilities. She said that 5 words at this age was normal, and Katie Anne said about 20 different words during the examination! They gave KA a little "quiz" to see if she could identify body parts... identifying 1-3 is the norm, and KA got 7 right (eye, ear, nose, mouth, hair, foot, belly... she can also do arm, tongue, and leg, but they didn't ask those). They also wanted to see her walk (she walked from the waiting room to the exam room by herself, so we didn't have to demonstrate that again), wave, and clap... she blew some kisses as a bonus. She even blew a kiss at the nurse through her little tears after she got her shots, which they all thought was cute and sad at the same time! She got 3 immunizations today and has to go back in October for her 18 month check up. We're so proud of her progress!

I LOVE the glasses! And it's so good to hear that KA is learning so much and PROVING it to her doctor! I can't wait to see her again in September, and again in October! We miss y'all.
