Happy Birthday, Gigi!

On Sunday evening, we celebrated Gigi's birthday at my parents' house. We had a fun DIY pizza cookout on the grill! My parents set up a pizza topping bar table in their garage (Mom's party was also affected by the rain storms), and each family got to top their own pizza. Our little family led the way with out intrepid half-and-half idea (half cheese, pepperoni, and veggies, and half bbq chicken with jalapenos). My mom also had grilled marinated fruit - peaches and pineapple - totally delicious!

We all sat outside and chatted - and Katie Anne rode her tricycle around and around us, Flintstones style - while the pizza and fruit grilled, and then we went inside to eat it. We also had a big salad to go along with our grilled creations. My favorite pizza was the bbq chicken! Everyone agreed that the pizza bar is definitely an idea we'll be repeating - so good and so fun!

After dinner, we went into the living room and Gigi opened her presents. We got her a Pandora bead for her bracelet - Katie Anne picked it out herself. It is a tiny silver and gold birthday cake. We also got her a cute, funky bead bracelet that Katie Anne and I saw a few weeks ago. Greg and Jillian got her a book, movie, and a bowl from Pampered Chef. My dad got her a new pocketbook she's been wanting and a new blender, which she really needed!

Then, we went back into the dining room for a yummy dessert - homemade Ooey Gooey Bars and ice cream. I don't have a picture of my mom blowing out her candles because my camera mysteriously disappeared after the gift opening, and I found it while we were back in the living room watching the movie Gigi got (27 Dresses). We had such a fun time! Happy Birthday, Gigi!
