Johnny Appleseed Day!

Katie Anne has been studying the letter A all week at school, and her class has learned about Johnny Appleseed.  Today, they made a candy apple project!

Of course, Katie Anne couldn't wait to get home and try it.  Here she is, showing off her apple:

At first, Katie Anne wanted her apple "big".  Of course, trying to eat a large, round apple covered in icing and candy presents eating challenges...

When we realized that wasn't working, Katie Anne agreed to Mommy's original idea of cutting the apple into pieces.

So much easier!

Yeah for Aa, Johnny Appleseed, and especially candy apples!

Ooh! That looks good! We might have to try that especially since we just went apple picking and came home with over 15lbs of apples. O.o Are there any other instructions or is it just as simple as it sounds?

Just as simple as it sounds, I think... I wish I could've gone to her school to see it! We just brought in small apples, white icing, and small candies. I think her teacher asked for candy corn, M&Ms, chocolate chips, and peanut butter chips. It looks like an adult jammed the stick down into the apple, and I don't know whether they let the kids put the icing on or just stick on the candy. But, KA's teacher said they had a total blast doing it! (And, it was REALLY tasty.)
