We celebrated Abby's birthday today!
We are not exactly sure how old Abby is... she's a rescue dog, so we got her at an older age. I'll have to contact the lady who rescued her originally and see what year she found our poor little Abby on the street as a six-week-old puppy. I can't remember what she said when we got Abby. We've had her for over five years, and the vet's office estimates that she's 14 based on her teeth somehow. In fact, we're not even sure of her birthday since she's a precious little urchin from the streets, but her original rescuer Carol found her in late August, so the vet estimated that she was born in mid July. We've always celebrated her birthday around July 15.
Here's a cute one of Katie Anne and Abby, but do you see little Ginger trying to jump into the birthday shot? Two's company... three's a crowd...
So, here's one of just KA and Abby (or Baby Cocoa, as Katie Anne likes to call her) without the little interloper.
Regardless of her age or the exact appropriate date, we threw Abby a fun little party tonight! We dressed Abby in her birthday best - a festive hat and bandana. We had hot dogs, baked beans, and tater tots - Abby and Ginger both got a hot dog for themselves! They were so excited! Then, after we all sang Happy Birthday, Dear Abby, she got to open her present! Katie Anne had picked her out a mixed bag full of goodies at Target and wrapped it herself in a Tinkerbell bag.
Of course, she had no problem helping Abby open it! Abby and Ginger loved the treats - Katie Anne chose two special treats for both of them in lieu of cake.
Here's a picture of Ginger getting her treat.
There's no picture of the birthday girl getting her treat - she's too fast! Here's a picture of her eating it, though.
